Contemplating Selling ShopperUK.com

Over the past few months personal circumstances have changed a little & I am maybe looking for a slightly new direction within the industry & new projects.

Therefore I am contemplating selling the website  ShopperUK.com. Being unfamiliar territory for me, I am not sure of the procedure of how to go about selling a website, so any advice would be appreciated, together with any potential interested parties.

Hi mate, all I would do is put together a Word Document/PDF or similar outlining some of the reasons why someone would purchase it. Things like:

    Age of domain/site
    Number of inbound links
Pagerank of site (pointless, but most people want to know it)
The main search terms that bring traffic to the site
How much revenue it makes per month/year. If possible include a history of recent years
How the site generates revenue, i.e. affiliate commissions, tenancy deals, private ad sales, Adsense etc etc etc.
Number of visitors – and where they come from, i.e. paid or natural search and what percentage of each
Where do your visitors come from? I.e. UK or international, what split etc. and any other demographics you may have
Number of members/subscribers to mailing list
What maintenance is involved in running the site, how often you update etc.

Whenever I sell a site I always put myself in the shoes of a potential buyer and just try to think of what they would want to know. Try to include as much info as possible into the document. Also, if lets say you are the top affiliate for Merchant X then put that in too. In other words shout about your achievements and make the document so compelling that people would be mad not to buy your site! 🙂

I would then approach your main competitors and ask them if they would be interested in buying the site. Also approach any agencies, networks or individuals you know through your many years in the industry. Maybe offer them a finders fee if they broker a deal for you?

Anyway, just some ideas, good luck whatever you decide to do.
